It’s so important for us to get behind our local businesses in these challenging times and to provide a platform for our community to come together to support our region’s restaurants, distilleries, brewers, business owners, producers and creatives. With that said, we’ve been doing everything we can to schedule Sample Food Festival’s return to the Bangalow Showgrounds on Saturday 4th September 2021.

Join us for Sample Food Festival this Spring, our 10th Anniversary will feature a line-up of special guests, a selection of Northern NSW and beyond’s best restaurants and beverages, workshops, market stalls, pop-up events and more. We are also happy to share with you that we have received support from the NSW Government’s Regional Events Acceleration Fund to help make this year’s event more exciting than ever.

We will be introducing a number of new initiatives this year to allow you to plan ahead and enjoy a safe and comfortable festival experience. For the first time, Sample Food Festival will be offering three ticketed time slots to the event with pre-purchased tickets available along with pre-order menus and QR menu ordering options. Limited capacity picnic experiences will also be on offer for you to enjoy a VIP festival experience with your closest friends. This ticket option is for groups of up to six and includes festival entry, a reserved picnic spot in the main food precinct and Wandering Folk picnic rug hire, with shade umbrella hire also available. There will also be extra room around the festival site if you would prefer to bring your own picnic rug.

Shannon Martinez

We are thrilled to be welcoming Australia’s leading Vegan Chef & Author, Shannon Martinez to Sample Food Festival this year.

Shannon Martinez is an unlikely candidate to be the poster girl for plant-based dining. But she is, and she’s unstoppable.

Owner of prolific plant-based businesses; Smith & Daughters and Smith & Deli, Shannon is on a mission to change both the way people perceive plant-based food and the way they eat it. In her case, it’s coming from a different perspective.

Being a meat eater gives Shannon the insight to create tastes and textures that are unlike anything on the market today, dreaming up recipes that truly replicate meats, cheeses, and good old family favourites.
