Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner? Or more accurately guess who’s coming to Sample Food Festival 2018?
You might remember the 1967 classic “Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner?”, a provocative film in its time starring Spencer Tracy, Sidney Poitier, and Katharine Hepburn, perhaps the biggest celebrities of their era.
Each year we consider Sample Food Festival to be overflowing with stars, the atmosphere, the food, the community (family) and of course our celebrities.
Today it’s our pleasure to announce two of the stars of #SampleFoodFest 2018, celebrity chefs; Shannon Bennett & Zeb Gilbert.
Shannon Bennett is an author, tv personality, and chef who learned his craft at the elbow of food luminaries such as Albert Roux, John Burton-Race, Marco Pierre White and Alain Ducasse.
Shannon has an abiding passion for classical cooking, which has seen him study the cuisine of Carême, Dugléré and Escoffier, and re-interpret their edicts for a contemporary dining experience.
We are very excited to see how Shannon responds to the fare and flavours of the Northern Rivers.
Zeb Gilbert is Executive Chef and co-owner of Wasabi Restaurant in Noosa. Zeb also keeps busy with The Cooking School Noosa and Ibento Boutique Event Space.
Previous to his involvement with the Wasabi Group, Zeb had a stint as Sous Chef at the iconic The Spirit House on the Sunshine Coast and Simple Pleasures Bistro in Brisbane.
Zeb lives (and cooks) his fundamental principles of regional, seasonal and purity in food.
He masterfully combines a classic Japanese sensibility with a contemporary setting to create unforgettable food. We welcome Zeb as our Northern cousin and look forward to see what he brings to and keeps from, our wonderful region.
