Can you feel it? Spring is in the air and that means our 12th Sample Food Festival is right around the corner and it’s time to share our festival program with you. Read all about the drool worthy $5, $10 and $15 tasting plates on offer this year as well as delicious beverage menus from long-time favourite breweries, cellars and distilleries along with the newest take on Northern Rivers flavours (see you in line for a Bunya Nut Rum cocktail from Birds of Isle!)
Let’s take a moment to talk about the cooking stage – not only will you be able to see some very talented local chefs battle it out in the Norco Cape Byron Ultimate Scoop Competition, you can also watch four local Mayors go head to head in the Northern Rivers Food My Mayor Rules cook-off plus elevate your drinks knowledge with masterclasses from Lord Byron Distillery and Cape Byron Distillery!
There is a Wild Food Foraging Workshop with Peter Hardwick (hurry – only two tickets left!), Kids Gnocchi making classes with North Byron Hotel and a whole lot of fun things planned for our littlest foodies including a kids creative corner and excitement gazebo, roaming performances, face painting, wildlife encounters with Byron Bay Wildlife Sanctuary plus free soccer sessions with the Rainbow Roos!

We’re thrilled to announce that Forest Byron Bay will be joining us at this year’s Sample Food Festival. Known for their innovative dishes and fresh, local ingredients, Forest is bringing a taste of their culinary magic to the festival. BIRDS OF ISLE
Chanel Melani and Sally Carter of Birds of Isle produce premium rum spirits, inspired by the diverse landscape and culture of the Northern Rivers. You will be able to enjoy delicious Birds of Isle cocktails including a Bunya Nut Rum Negroni, Mai Tai Margarita, Rum & Grapefruit Highball and a non-alcoholic Grapefruit Soda at the festival – we know they are going to be a hit this year!
THE CELLAR
This year The Cellar will be serving their tasty Natus Wine Range from Margaret River along with some fabulous Natural Order Wines or you can indulge with a glass G.H Mumm Champagne or a V.Lafayette Blanc de blanc. Something for everyone!
