We are thrilled to have pioneers of the Australian craft distilling scene Husk Distillers, as a sponsor of Sample Food Festival this year. With its huge following, it is likely you have come across the Messenger family’s stunning colour changing Ink Gin which is showing up on drink lists, cocktail menus and Instagram feeds far and wide.

Ink Gin is made with 13 organic botanicals and infused with the petals of the butterfly pea flower to give its distinctive indigo colour. When the floral-infused Ink Gin is mixed with something like tonic water, lime or lemon, the colour changes dramatically from blue to blush pink.

Husk Distillers haven’t stopped at just one remarkable innovation and their Spiced Bam Bam, a unique premium native spiced rum has recently won them GOLD at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Challenging convention again, Spiced Bam Bam is a different style of rum to that historically available in Australia – an all-natural agricole rum, infused with native and traditional botanicals. Roasted Australian wattle seed, local native ginger, sun-dried orange peel combine with golden berries, whole Tahitian vanilla beans and cinnamon quills to create a unique spice flavour.

Husk Distillers grow all of their own sugar cane on their family farm in Northern New South Wales and adopt sustainable distilling practices. All the organic waste from the distillery is put back into the farm, either fed to the cattle or composted.

Husk Distillers will be mixing up two Ink Gin cocktails and two Spiced Bam Bam cocktails at Sample Food Festival presented by Gold Coast Airport on Saturday 1st September 2018 8am – 4pm, Bangalow Showgrounds. Over 150 local producers & lifestyle exhibitors. $5 entry (kids free) $5 & $10 restaurant tasting plates.

If you are 18+ and appreciate a finely crafted cocktail make sure you visit Husk Distillers at Sample Food Festival this year!

Husk Distillers and Sample Food Events support the responsible drinking of alcohol.
